Boulder Kung Fu Academy respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it and how it may be handled.
Information you provide
We may collect information that you choose to provide when you contact the Academy, request an observation, request private instruction, apply for a partial scholarship, subscribe to the newsletter or otherwise communicate with us. Depending on the form or request, this may include:
- Your name, email address and telephone number
- Your date of birth, city and ZIP code
- Information about your interests, experience, availability and reasons for seeking training
- Relevant injury, disability or health information that you voluntarily provide so we can consider whether an observation or program may be appropriate
- Any other information included in your message or request
How we use information
We use this information to respond to inquiries, evaluate requests to observe or join the school, communicate about training, administer enrollment, send communications you have requested, maintain the website and Academy records, and comply with applicable obligations.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the Academy newsletter, your contact information is managed through Mailchimp. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the link included in each newsletter. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not prevent the Academy from sending necessary administrative messages to enrolled students.
Payments
Online payments are processed by PayPal. Boulder Kung Fu Academy does not receive or store your complete payment-card information. PayPal handles payment information according to its own privacy practices.
Website analytics, cookies and embedded content
This website uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, general location, browser and device information, and interactions with the website. This information is used in aggregate to improve the site.
The site may use cookies or similar technologies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect some website functions.
Pages may also include content from services such as YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. Embedded content can behave as though you visited the provider’s website directly, and those providers may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to operate the website and Academy communications, including Google Workspace and Google Forms, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, PayPal, YouTube, WordPress and GoDaddy. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services or as otherwise described in their own policies.
Boulder Kung Fu Academy does not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to operate the Academy, protect rights or safety, comply with law, or respond to a lawful request.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for Academy administration and recordkeeping, or as required by law. We take reasonable measures to protect the information in our care, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children’s privacy
The Academy does not currently offer classes to students under 18, and this website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.
Your choices
You may ask us to update or delete personal information you have provided, subject to any information we reasonably need to retain for administrative, legal or historical recordkeeping purposes.
